Real Madrid Hit with Another Blow Ahead of Arsenal Rematch
As if a 3–0 defeat wasn’t enough, Real Madrid suffered an additional setback in their Champions League quarter-final clash against Arsenal — the late dismissal of Eduardo Camavinga.
Camavinga Suspended for Crucial Second Leg
The French midfielder was shown a second yellow card deep into stoppage time, sealing his suspension for the second leg at the Santiago Bernabéu. Camavinga had already been set to miss the return fixture due to card accumulation, but his late red card leaves no room for appeal or reconsideration.
He received his first booking in the 69th minute and was shown the second in the 94th, reducing Madrid’s already slim hopes of a comeback.
All Eyes on the Bernabéu
The return leg will be played next Wednesday in Madrid, where Real will attempt to stage a comeback against a confident Arsenal side. The winner of this quarter-final will face either Paris Saint-Germain or Aston Villa in the semi-finals.
With Camavinga ruled out, Real Madrid’s midfield options become more limited — adding another layer of difficulty to an already uphill battle.
